Description
4c Executive has been retained exclusively by an industrial manufacturing company as they seek to appoint a strategic operations leader as the General Manager for their site in Fermanagh.
Our client has been established for over 60 years and has a long-standing history of providing high-quality products for the domestic building and agricultural industries. Having recently been acquired, our client has invested significantly in automation and machinery across their production sites in order to drive growth and sustainability.
The General Manager will be fully responsible for the overall day-to-day management of production in addition to other key areas such as engineering, maintenance, SHEQ and people management. They will lead the strategic direction of the site and drive operational excellence as well as a culture of continuous improvement.
The General Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering multiple, large CapEx projects that increase operational efficiency and output, ensuring projects are implemented on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will be a strong and decisive leader with the ability to drive a high-performance and growth. They will also demonstrate the following experience:
- Significant track record (minimum of 5 years) of working in a senior leadership role within a heavy plant or industrial manufacturing business.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing multidisciplinary teams and driving a high performing culture.
- Experience of continuous improvement methodologies, implementing and embedding a culture of continuous improvement to deliver streamlined, high volume operational processes.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering large CapEx projects with a focus on automation.
- Experience of setting and measuring key performance indicators and improving performance against these.
- Bachelors degree in engineering, manufacturing, business management or related field.
It is desirable to have a Masters degree in engineering and/or manufacturing as well as recognised continuous improvement qualifications such as LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
