Senior Commercial Finance Lead.

4C Executive Placement are working with a family-owned manufacturer of specialist products as they seek to appoint a Senior Commercial Finance Lead. With over 35 years of experience in their sector, our client operates within a multi-site environment with clients across the UK, island of Ireland and mainland Europe. 

Due to recent promotions within the group, our client is now seeking to appoint an experienced finance leader who will take full responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, driving a culture of cost control, variance analysis, and sophisticated FP&A capability.

The successful candidate will partner directly with the Managing Director and Board to provide rigorous financial discipline, a sharp commercial mindset, and strategic leadership. Operating as a key advisor, the Senior Commercial Finance Lead will actively support the business in achieving its ambitious growth plans as it scales its operations and navigates new commercial opportunities.

This is a hands-on leadership role that demands both commercial acumen and an ability to engage positively with the operational requirements of a manufacturing environment and a multi-site mobile operation.

The successful candidate will have the below experience:

• Fully qualified accountant with a proven track record of influencing, implementing, and tracking comprehensive financial strategy and commercial performance metrics presenting reports to senior leadership team.
• Experience leading the financial appraisal of commercial proposals, pricing frameworks, and capex investments, whilst managing relationships with key stakeholders.
• Demonstrable expertise in financial modelling, risk assessment, and strategic planning.
• Proven background in best-practice FP&A processes, including establishing product costing structures and intricate variance analysis across capacity, material, overhead, and labour hours.
• Successful track record of people leadership, including mentoring an accounts team, setting and tracking departmental KPIs.
• Proven experience in modernising financial systems and processes, including implementing robust internal controls, scaling technological solutions, and migrating traditional spreadsheet analysis to automated dashboard reporting.

Desirable

• Significant experience developing and executing foreign exchange strategies within multi-currency operating environments.
