7twenty Professional Search is delighted to partner with John McQuillan Contracts, one of Northern Ireland’s leading providers of civil engineering services as they seek to appoint a Contracts Manager. John McQuillan Contracts sits within McQuillan Companies which offers a diverse range of services including civil engineering, roadworks, demolition, quarrying, waste management, outdoor cleaning and analytical chemistry.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Contracts Manager will have overall responsibility for the co-ordination, management and delivery of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed profitably, safely, on time and to an acceptable standard whilst maintaining and promoting strong client relationships.
The successful candidate will effectively manage a portfolio of contracts simultaneously, overseeing procurement of materials, management and selection of sub-contractors and works on site.
Working alongside a range of key stakeholders, the Contracts Manager will build effective relationships and implement robust processes to ensure the successful delivery of projects and profitability for the business.
Experience
The following skills and experience would be required:
- Demonstrable experience in a Senior Civil Engineer / Contracts Manager position.
- Proven ability of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, people and team management skills.
- Professional knowledge of specifications and industry requirements.
- Knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts.
- Track record of producing project reports and project programmes and delivering to colleagues and clients alike.
