Our client is a renowned Belfast company at the forefront of innovation and efficiency. Through vision, business acumen and strong long-term relationships, as well as continuous investment and acquisition, the business has continued to flourish and grow. On their behalf, 4c seek to appoint an Operations Director, a role that is key to both the company’s strategic development and advancement.

The Operations Director will provide operational leadership in the organisation ensuring the achievement of commercial and corporate goals and taking ownership of the strategic direction of manufacturing operations. Working closely with Director colleagues, you will focus on common deliverables and corporate goals to share ideas and strengths, achieve a balanced scorecard and ensure business decisions can be made without delay. You will be responsible for day-to-day site activities across production, technical, logistics, quality and health & safety, inspiring a culture of high performance throughout the workforce. The Operations Director will ensure that the site has the process flow capacity and resource requirements to meet commercial objectives, optimising its performance as a whole, identifying potential investment opportunities and integrating new systems where appropriate. You will champion manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement and innovation to ensure the organisation remains the leader in its field. Leading and coaching the operational management team to deliver results and meet targets, you will recognise and nurture talent for the future.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Significant experience in a senior operations role within a medium to large manufacturing organisation.
  • Proven track record in leading a multi-functional team, driving results and improvements in each area of responsibility and ensuring staff engagement.
  • Experience of operational capacity planning and forecasting in a complex production environment.
  • Demonstrable success in leading the development and implementation of process improvement and efficiency programmes.
  • Evidence of establishing and maintaining excellent business relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline such as mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • An accreditation in a continuous improvement methodology would be desirable.
