Our client is a fast-paced, proudly innovative and hugely successful privately owned company based in Newry. Trading for almost 13 years, the company has grown from a novel idea to an extremely profitable, respected and highly advanced organisation exceeding industry standards and customer expectations. Over these years, they have continued to secure business and, as their geographical reach expands, so does their service offering. This is a pivotal time of pending organic growth and acquisition and on their behalf, 4c seek to appoint a Financial Director to play a key part in this through provision of strategic and commercial direction.
As an integral part of the Director team you will jointly own short, medium and long-term strategies in order to meet the commercial objectives and ambitions of the business. The Financial Director will identify and manage business acquisitions, collaborations, business ventures and other commercial opportunities and investments, including evaluation of prospects, due diligence, deal structure, negotiation, integration and hindsight assessment. You will review in advance all major contracts that the company enters into, ensuring their commercial viability and be aware of all existing contracts, monitoring their progress. You will manage the financial performance of the business, ensuring accurate and consistent forecasting and quality risk mitigation. You will manage and develop the finance function, maximising output and providing effective leadership, communication and encouragement.
Applicants should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Significant experience in a senior leadership role within the finance function of a medium or large, fast-paced commercial organisation.
- Evidence of delivering sound strategic direction to senior stakeholders.
- Experience of managing acquisitions, new business ventures and ideally of working in a company experiencing rapid growth.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and developing a finance team.
- Qualified accountant.
